Anyone wonder what Juno's son's life will be like?

Anybody?

My two cents is that the witch Vanessa will utterly wreck his psyche.

Any thoughts?

He'd grow up with a helicopter mother - the kind that makes teachers' lives miserable while they teach her oh-so-perfect son. He'll be a lazy brat but she'll think he can do no wrong and the teachers just don't "get" him.

reply

Or he could be very successful in school, but will have to deal with a mother who lives vicariously through his achievements.

reply

You know, if I were her adopted son, I wouldn't even acknowledge her as a mother. She'd just be a glorified babysitter.

reply

So I read this comment twice now (don't know nor care if it was you making it twice) but haven't seen a reason for the son to ever know his mummy isn't his mother.

reply

He should know his "mother" is a fake.

reply

Because you think so? I don't know what I would do, but I can imagine when you adopt a child at birth you wouldn't tell it's adopted. There is no need to know, no need to complicate and wouldn't matter anyway.

reply

I certainly think it does matter. Is it better for him to grow up with a woman like Vanessa than to not exist at all? It would've been better for him to be aborted. The world is a cesspool.

reply

Ofcourse there would be consequences to either being aborted or grow up with any woman. But when they've chosen any action it is no longer relevant.

In the end she will be his mother.

reply

OP, can you please explain what it is about Vanessa exactly that makes you think she'd be a bad mom?

Being raised by an adopted mother is not in and of itself a bad thing. Nor is being raised by a single mother.

reply

Somebody that gets it! Right on!

"but I can imagine when you adopt a child at birth you wouldn't tell it's adopted. There is no need to know, no need to complicate and wouldn't matter anyway"

What is with the bs here? Sweetie, nowadays EVERYONE knows kids need to know they're adopted. That kind of thing isn't even practical to keep a secret and let's see, it'd be a big fat LIE to tell the kid otherwise; you expect all Vanessa's friends to pretend she gave birth to the kid or something? If she lied to him, he'd also think Mark was his father and want to meet him at some point. For all purposes practical, emotional and healthwise because of genetic matters, kids NEED to know if they have different birth parents.

reply

Why does this idiot OP's comments keep getting answered by the totally asinine idea that Juno's son would never know who she was or even that Vanessa wasn't his birth mother??

reply

I think he'll end up OK but also very much sensing his mother's distaste for her ex, if not men in general, and also for anything she considers frivolous (video games, music especially rock music, maybe horror movies).
