I didn't like the way they treated the ultrasound technician

When Juno mentioned she found a couple who would adopt her kid the technician said "Thank God." and then Juno and her stepmom basically started criticizing her career and insulting her intelligence. I thought Juno and her step mother were both way out of line in that scene. Who talks to people that way?

reply

They only got angry when she implied that Juno raising the baby would have been 'toxic'. It wasn't her place to pass judgement.

Maybe had the US tech minded her business and kept her gob shut, it wouldn't be necessary.

As an aside, you know it's not a documentary, right?

reply

Yeah the tech was way, way out of line there and deserved to be reamed. Granted, I doubt a tech would say that IRL but then I've never seen a stupid ****ing hamburger phone IRL either. For shizz.

The character of the technician, what she says, is there to get that idea on the table and out of the way, because whether we agree with it or not, we think about it while watching this story develop. Would her having and keeping the baby be a good idea?
Rhetorical question, (or maybe not) but by including it in the script they get it out there so we can move on with the story.
