Juno crying

Why did Juno cry towards the end of the movie after giving birth when Bleeker was with her?

reply

Probably because giving birth, and then give your child to another woman, is a hard and emotionally thing to do.

That's right Cok, that showed that unlike what a few dopes here said, Juno WAS his mother, too, emotionally for some part as well as physically. She was never able to just have him and hand him over like she thought.

reply

Would I be right Norm in suggesting that you might not yet have experienced the emotions of being involved with the birth of children?

reply

Because it's sad to give away your baby? Even if you know it's the right thing. Every woman falls in love with her baby the moment she knows they are there IMO.

reply

I think, she's just glad, that all this *beep* time is over.I mean, this tears weren't sad tears. They were happy tears, relieved tears.

reply

I felt it was her hormones and the fact that she had to give her baby away. It's amazing the hormones you experience after having your baby and they're almost immediate. I don't think she was happy or relieved. I think it was the mixture of hormones and giving a part of her up.

reply

Giving the baby up was a rational choice and also probably better for the baby. But that doesn't mean it's a painless thing to do. Even though everyone in the film was totally cool about the decision that doesn't mean there were going to be no emotional consequences. I think the tears were the expression of that sadness which is something the character will carry for the rest of her life.

reply

LOL at everyone with the "every mother gets depressed about giving away her baby and will live with the horrible guilt for the rest of her life".

*beep* Juno didn't want to have a baby, she wasn't torn up about it. She was just glad that it was all over.

You're simple-minded.

reply

I think that no matter which way you slice it, it's an emotionally powerful experience. I was feeling emotional while watching it. Despite it not presenting a concrete challenge or problem, that sort of a situation would make you look at life in a weird and humbling way.

reply

Besides the hormones, I do think the reality of the situation was hitting her at that moment. It does once before, after she leaves Mark and Vanessa's house when she thinks the adoption would go south. The thought that the baby would not have the perfect life she imagined devastated her. When it comes to her baby she has pretty strong emotions, but she hides behind sarcasm and snark to deal with it. She didn't plan for the kid, but losing him was still hard even though she knew he would go somewhere he was loved and cared for.

reply

Even though she wanted nothing to do with this kid and only picked that couple was simply cause they would pay for her treatment I do think she did shows signs of reluctancy but immediately brushed it off even when she thinks leaving the baby with a woman who just took an emotional blow and were not sure how she might turn out.

reply

Giving birth or even being pregnant is a very emotional experience for a woman. Her hormones are going crazy. A lot of women suffer depression after giving birth. I know I did. Of course mine lasted 2 years. Till I got rid of her good for nothing dad. Lol
