I get that he was bonding with Juno and maybe was unsure he wanted to be a dad, but her character was 16 years old. Did he really think that leaving his wife and renting a loft apartment was going to seal the deal with her, aside from the fact that it's illegal.

In terms of older guy/ teenage girl romance, it is highly common. Probably every high school in the world has at least one such young girl having sex with an older guy.
Yeah that is one thing that kinda bugged me about Mark's intentions. However, a part of me didn't think he wanted to romantically get involved with Juno. He planned on moving away. I think he just looked having her company as a friend since she was so chill and laid back, unlike what he's used to (Vanessa).
