Juno this is overrated

Haha okay bad joke aside this film is incredibly overrated. Couldn't stand the main character.

It's one of the best teen movies since John Hughes.

~ I'm a 21st century man and I don't wanna be here.

My thoughts exactly.

She came off as someone who just wanted the kid out of her body and life she still like that but becomes a little concerned for it

reply

it was just plain awful IMO

i think i went in with the wrong expectations though, i wanted to see a lighthearted teen comedy, instead i got a heavyhearted teen/adult drama

It had it's moments, but I think that the Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner characters actually stole the movie. I couldn't stand Michael Cera's character.

I don't get the whole Michael Cera thing, I think others feel the same hence you really don't see him in anything significant anymore.

Imagine what it would have been like had Lindsay Lohan been cast as originally planned.

I don't think it is. I'm a hard guy to please and love this movie.

I still like it but it's sort of ruined by Elliott Page stuff, how can it not be. I'm not insulting him, if he's happy good luck to him. But his past films are going to be hurt by that, especially this one which is a female driven film. Even Whip it and My Days of Mercy are hurt by it.

Juno is definitely a required taste as a character. If you are onboard with the character then you like the movie if not then you are going to dislike it. I like the film, but I never understood the award buzz it got. Beyond Elliott and the script, that should have been it for awards talk. I think the films got heart to it, even though she's a bit to smart ass for her own good Juno is just a soft hearted teen girl underneath it all. I like Michael Cera/Elliott Page relationship and the ending with them singing the song is still really sweet. I like Jason Bateman playing a bit of scumbag in it. Jennifer Garner is even pretty good, even though Juno dislikes her at the start you see she's probably going to be the better parent out of her and Bateman's character. JK Simmons/Alison Janney are fun in their smaller roles as Juno parents.

It's a good film not a classic imo. As I said I think it be hurt by Elliott Page stuff when it's looked back upon, no one wants to say it but it's true. Even though it's his best performance he's put on.
