English accent is because of the GAME !!!

It's quite funny reading everyone on here moaning about the use of an English accent in the film and talking in great length about the reasons of this and that....

...while missing the point that this film is based on a game.

The prince in the Game speaks with an English accent? why... who cares, it sounds good maybe. but the fact is that the actors in this film are trying their best to sound like GAME characters.

no other reason. nothing to do with trying to sound old or can't do Iranian accents etc....

People who will mostly see this is because they played the very good game and hearing the voices sound similar makes it more believable. This is probably why the film didn't do as well as it could, because it left the story of the GAME.

so please all chill out and accept it's just a film based on a good game !

Was wondering the same thing myself! You learn something every day!

Except that the Prince in the game is not voiced by the same person who plays him in the movie.

Some things just don't make the transition from game to film or from actor to actor, and to me this is one of them.
