nothing more than a 4/10

Saw it in Bangkok tonight, and I think 4/10 is generous...2/10 more like it. So disappointed in Gere and Danes for choosing this ("Stardust" was a much better choice).

I've read many comparisons to "Se7en" on this board, and I think that's a big insult. For better or worse, "8mm" is more like it, which I didn't like either. Very little redeeming value to this. For some reason, I kept thinking of the movie "Fracture" while watching this. They are nothing alike, mind you, I just kept comparing it while watching and thinking that "Fracture" was clever and engaging, whereas "The Flock" is just soulless and soul-sucking...in fact, it just sucks. Hate, hate, hated it.

BTW, I've also read a lot of Avril Lavigne fans eager to see this. I think you will be super-disappointed...not in her, just with the whole experience. She says exactly 5 words in a 3-minute scene in a minor character role that would've been filled normally by someone out of "central casting" for a kinky junkie that's in a whacked abusive relationship. Trust me, do yourself a favor and skip it. I'm sure her scene'll end up on YouTube (yep, just checked...already there).

I gave it a 6.
