The Wolf in the film.

Does anyone know if it's a real wolf that's used in the film, or is it a domestic dog, or a crossbreed? If it is a domestic dog, does anyone know which breed?

I looked at the crewlist and there's a credit for an animal trainer and a wolf trainer.

Thanks.

I think it was a dog called Wolf.

And here I thought the wolf was named either Dog or Doodles.

I don't remember seeing a dog or a wolf in the movie at all. What scene is it that uses one? Lots of times they use Siberian Husky crosses to look like wolves. The colors are prettier, coats heavier, and heads/expressions nicer than wolves.

You know the sound of wind rushing through treetops? That's my signature.

"Wolf" is in the Director's Cut. He gnaws on Babbage's arm when Custis' tries to kill Allison. Allison has a bad dream about seeing Wolf earlier (in the warehouse).

^ Not just a dream - she awoken to find Wolf growling at her!

I doubt it was really a wolf, just a cross-bred dog that looked wolf-like. Are wolves illegal? His name was probably Wolf for his likeness to a wolf. After all, dogs are just evolved wolves anyway aren't they? =)

The wolf in the film was played by both a real wolf and dogs, depending on the scene. The organization I work with (Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary) brought Cheyenne, a Timber wolf, for some of the scenes. I can't remember if this shot in still in the film or not, but she ate a piece of chicken and growled at the camera. Also, when the truck is driving away with the wolf in the back, that is Cheyenne. However, the animal jumping into the truck was a dog they painted to look like Cheyenne. Cheyenne is actually a very friendly girl who enjoyed herself on the movie set, but since she's not trained, it took a lot of skill and camera techniques to get the shots to look like.

You can visit our website at www.wildspiritwolfsanctuary.org and view Cheyenne's profile.
