No 'call the Cop' why???

I knew, Gere's cast is hated by Detectives/Cops in that neighborhood but how come a Civilian Government official when found a dead body and finally someone is threaten to death he doesn't even saying "call the cop!". It is about a human life and moreover phone signal is there.

Very strange indeed, just for the sake of his character!!

My thoughts exactly.

Also, his female partner has her house broken into by a wolf and she doesn't seem too bothered about reporting it or upping her security (Babbage gets in himself later).

Even if Babbage was at odds with the cops, he should have known better than to move a body and likely destroy evidence which could convict the killer. He should have called the police as soon as he found the body in the basement.

"he should have known better than to move a body and likely destroy evidence"
You are absolutely right. There should have been police officers present at all of the places Babbage went looking for the suspects. He screwed up every crime scene he went to. None of the evidence he found could be used in court.

not necessarily if in fact these sexual offendeders were on parole they surrender their 4th amendment privileges ,thus they c/n raise the issue of illegal search and seizure .

And why was the freaking car soooooo far from the house in the first place? Why didn't Danes move it closer when she went to get a flashlight? She just ran all the way to the car, grabbed the flashlight, then ran another quarter of a mile back to the house? That was stupid.

You know the sound of wind rushing through treetops? That's my signature.
