Should Paul Rudd have been Star-Lord in GOTG?

Chris Pratt was amazing in Parks & Rec but that shtick didn't work for me in GOTG, and after seeing Ant Man I'm wondering how Rudd would have been in Pratt's role? We'll never know of course, but conjecture is what conjecture is.

Rudd comes across as too nice to play Starlord, and vice versa.

I think the casting was spot-on in both cases.

No, because everybody said no.

Nah, I really liked Paul Rudd as Ant Man and Chris Pratt as Peter Quill. They both did a phenomenal jobs on their characters that I wouldn't a change a thing. That's just me though.

I think Paul Rudd would have been a better Star Lord than Chris Pratt but the casting of him against Drax and Gamora wouldn't work as well for me. Might sound shallow but Rudd at 5 ft 10 and Pratt at 6ft 2 gives a better contrast to the rest of the Marvel heroes not in a suit. (RDJ is 5ft 8 and is ALWAYS in lifts to allow him to stand eye-to-eye with the rest of the beefcakes).

If Rudd played Quill Stark's line of "Plucky" wouldn't seem so much of a joke. Also for me Rudd's ability to pull off roguish and charming just works more. Pratt is a bit grating and less loveable but still roguish.

One real drawback is Rudd is a bit older and for this role he needs to really be 10 years younger even though Rudd doesn't look his age. Nor does he act his age. Lol!!

Pratt has the role of Quill and everything is clicking, James Gunn's departure notwithstanding.

That was an entertaining question. Don't try that too often though.
