Fantastic movie, however the end ruined it for me completely !
Cause i don't like clone / duplicate idea. I relay wanted those bodies at the end in the tanks to be just wax dolls.
For me magic is just cheap tricks to fool you , like fast moves with hands and something to take off your attention etc like Tesla machine etc.
I agree, absolutely fantastic movie.
But the "prestige" shown at the end of the film really highlights the creepiness of Angier's story arc progression. This was a showman that told Cutter that he didn't want to get his hands dirty by killing doves when he started his Great Danton show. But his obsession with Borden builds so much, that he is then willing to bury Borden's engineer alive and repeatedly kill his own clones night after night, just for the applause, recognition, and revenge. He killed one clone to stage his own death, knowing that Borden would possibly be executed, and took Jess. Angier became the monster that he never believed that he could become.
Great work by Jackman and Bale.
And Nolan did an amazing job!
