He supposedly got out. I think in the goofs section it is mentioned that when the truck first appears you see the driver next to Griffin and then in a later shot just Griffin is there.
It is one of those details that they never explain like when Griffen jumps the British Double Decker Bus to try to crush Roland the bus is filled with people when it is snatched for the jump but where do the passengers go when the bus is rolling over Roland? OH maybe when Griffin Jumps vehicles he only jumps the vehicle and the driver? Or just himself and the vehicle?
