Worst. Actor. Ever.

Aww, come on...

Shattered Glass? Thanks for the recommendation. I just added it to the top of my Netflix queue.

That movie, Shattered Glass, came in today (from Netflix). I just finished watching the movie, plus the 60 Minutes interview with Glass himself that was in the extras.

I agree it is a great movie, and I want to thank you again for recommending it. I also agree that Hayden Christensen was absolutely amazing in it. If there was anything "wrong" about his performance it is that he made the Glass guy look more likable than he turned out to be in the interview. But that is part of Hayden's own being an essentially likable guy. I almost felt sorry for Glass while watching the movie. That is why I immediately watched the 60 Minutes interview after seeing the movie and concluded the real Glass was a real selfish jerk with no conscience (I mean, journalists have a responsibility to both inform their readers and not destroy the characters of the people they are reporting about unless they genuinely deserve it).

I don't think he broke any laws. He certainly was highly unethical, but that is not a legal matter. He could have been sued for defamation by some people, I suppose.

If he was ten years younger, he would probably go to work for Fox News instead of TNR and would be flourishing there.

And had he chosen the career of a fiction writer instead of a journalist, he might have become extremely successful since, apparently, he knew how to write. Then again, I think he was seeking popularity among his peers and fiction writers generally work by themselves, so he would not have had those peers. Though he could have had both if he went to work for a TV show.

I have watched the movie a second time tonight, this time listening to the commentary. Very interesting movie.

Glass is trying to become a lawyer now. He already graduated from law school, but he seems to be having a problem passing the character review to become a member of the bar. Don't know on Earth anyone would think he had questionable character. Oh wait a minute...

Fox News "sues for the right to intentionally lie"? Exactly what is your source for that gem? You've been watching too much MSNBC, who gets their arse kicked in the ratings so badly they lie & distort anything done on Fox.

When a network is number 1, especially as a wide a margin as Fox, and as long as they have, there's a reason: people trust and like what they hear. If your beloved networks were so great people would be watching them.

A tip: stop trolling those Daily Kos & Media Matters websites for your sources...

High ratings means success- period! We're not talking about food, we are talking about trust-worthy sources. Critical thinking? Please, your inane comparison reveals you are a mindless troll who follows the crowd...

Don't worry, debating you was the furthest from my mind. To debate someone the other party has to be intelligent...

Male Kristen Stewart.

He does well in "Shattered Glass", but I must say he did very well as Anakin, in "Star Wars: Episode 3- Revenge of the Sith".

"Don't touch the watch."

i totally disagree he's not excellent but he's good and i think he'll do great in the future

reply

He ruined starwars
He's a cretin
He's a hack
Can't stand him
He ruins everything

reply

i LOVED Hayden in Star Wars and I saw it 6 yrs later. Couldn't have been anyone else. He was tall, sultry and just plain sexy and conflicted at the same time. He played it well and I've watched it now again a couple of times.

reply

"He ruined starwars"

Ignorance at its best, he didnt ruin star wars, George Lucas did.

reply

i think they did it together.

That's good. Yeah, GL is a hack (a rich one with a knack for timing) and HC is a pretty face. I don't think he does much for any film that I've ever seen him in. He's not THE worst but he is by far lacking a talent that makes him stand out among his contemporaries.

Kiss my grits!

"That's good. Yeah, GL is a hack (a rich one with a knack for timing)"

Yep, bitter and unsuccessful people do tend to attribute others' success to "good timing", don't they?

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

commies... hes a good actor, hes just unique you dont catch his subtleties that i do i guess. he was very good in awake. and i thought he was good in jumper too. very realistic.

reply

Main problem was that he was playing a douche. Hayden can't make douchy characters likeable, unlike some actors.

reply

[deleted]

definitely very wooden. he doesn't seem to have developed any since star wars. the girl (whatever her name is) wasn't much better either.

reply

He's not bad. He's just fallen under terrible directors.

I can see that he has good potential, but seems to get such awkward and terrible lines, it'd be hard to find anyone who could handle them and come off as believable.
