Spoiled Its Own Ending Early On? *SPOILER*

Early in the movie, when it's mentioned that she was really wealthy, did anyone else immediately think, "Ok, clearly she's going to buy her own way out of this." At least I was wrong about any of her friends being bought freedom as well, because I was expecting at least one of them to make it out with her. Does anyone else think the story spoiled itself a little too early on?

reply

She didn't buy her way out, she had to kill someone.

The Long Walk stops every year, just once.

reply

Yes, as well as paying the monster fee, like all the men had. They wouldn't have just accepted the kill to let her go.

Its called foreshadowing and all movies do it (some better than others). "Hey Timmy, let me tell you a story of how I fought in a war and used this gun to win. Here's how you use the gun". A hour later the character is using the gun to win. Or, "I'm the bravest man in the world! Except for spiders..." An hour later the character is petrified by a spider.

nobody could have figured that out man. sure its easy after you finish the fcking movie
