I still don't get why they are so evil. I understand why they exist etc but where does their true evil nature come from? Is it taught or learned? Have I missed the explanation of their backstory? And being orphans isn't enough for me.

Basically I hate them and could do without them in the movies.

I can't stand those kids until the end of course. And even then.

The way they just picked someone who is supposed to be a member of the gang so he got shot, I wouldn't have felt bad if he would have shot them all instead. This is a *beep* disgusting behaviour. You can't trust someone who just gives up on you when it becomes hard.
