Not Torture Porn (Spoilers)

Torture Porn is a very loosely used term. I believe movies that are made for the sole purpose of shock and torture should be labeled Torture Porn. I admit, the first Hostel's story was incredibly weak and non-enjoyable, but I actually think they tried to make the movie have a good story to it. Why else would they let the main character survive and have us learn about the characters to feel some empathy for them (or at least try to feel empathy)? The second Hostel was a lot more enjoyable than the first. This one, even though they killed off the survivor from the first, had a lot better of a story and actually showed some cool links to the first movie. It was plenty more dynamic. They gave us a little side-story of two friends who felt oppositely on the subject of "manly" things and each took a 180 by the end of the movie. Also, the beginning of this movie didn't focus on 3 guys chasing tail until they end up at the HQ of the Elite-Hunting. It even made cool references to the first one. Like the photo of Axelle, Natalya, and Svetlana. I actually cared more for the 3 girls than the 3 guys. I did really like how Jay Hernandez performed in both movies, though. Even if you thought both story lines were rubbish, this movie shouldn't be considered Torture Porn because it made a very solid attempt at having a story and having character development.

I just don't consider "torture porn" a valid way to describe a movie, I just find the term foolish and just yet another excuse to make horror something that can just be "disregarded"

When you're 17 a cow can seem dangerous and forbidden...am I alone here?
