Fan of the 1st but not the 2nd (Spoilers)

Part II just came off as lazy

Right from the start we see 3 americans (wait in the first 1 was european but still) again and know right from the get go which two are gonna bite it and which one will escape.

Why did Beth have an odd look when she saw the picture at the mansion? She never saw the guy who took the ipod so why second guess the pic of Lorna and the guy together?

Why did the one businessman get killed for not finishing the job when Beth did the same thing? She says, "let him bleed to death," but the other girl would have bled to death too if they left her with that head wound. So why kill the businessman and not Beth

Not enough hot female nudity like the first one. I mean who wanted to see the ugly chick naked, upside down

It just felt like they said, lets do it again but with girls

Well Mule, maybe I can help you better understand Eli Roth's reason for doing a sequel and explain some of the questions you have. I'm a film historian and film buff by trade, so I think I can help ya.

You knew from the get go, who was gonna bite it and who wasn't? Damn you're better than me lol!
Eli Roth set up the film to have Josh appear to be the male lead, because we see that his intentions are to find a girl he can have a connection with. He's still pineing after his ex, unlike his friend who just wants to *beep* European women and get high. Josh wants more than that, and we see that by his futile failures in Amsterdam. Then he bonds with the Dutch businessman who suggests that he sew his oats and enjoy the warmth of a woman. He's somewhat bonded with Natalya and he has amazing sex with her. And I was surprised that Eli pulled a Hitchcock and killed off his main character, so that the film could be all about Paxton trying to figure things out and ultimately escape the factory.

Okay, your question about Beth and the picture.

She actually walked past that man on the train, when she and Whitney went to the bar car. Granted, Beth didn't get that good of a look at him, but she can tell that the Ipod thief is familar, which is why she starts to frown at the photograph. Did you also catch Svetlana and Natalya in the next photo with Axelle. I thought that was a nice touch, considering they were the ones who set up Josh and Paxton in the first film, and the fact that Axelle is setting up the girls in the sequel. All those bitches are buddies lol!

The reason why they killed Todd is because he was under contract, Beth was not. Besides Whitney's wound wasn't fatal, Todd's was, especially since all that blood was rushing to his cock lol! And Beth scored points when she offered to also pay Sasha for letting her go. Then she unwillingly had to become a member of the EHG. I wonder what that will mean for the next film.

I agree with you on the nudity, we should've seen Beth and Whitney naked too.

Basically Eli Roth wanted to do a sequel to show how the business works and tell a story from three girls POVs. The characters Todd and Stuart were put in the sequel to show what Josh and Paxton could've became in the future if they hadn't been killed. Paxton could've passed his bar exam, became a successful attorney and make regular trips overseas like Todd. Josh could've become a pussywimp like Stuart, unhappily married and going off with Paxton on his wild trips much like they were already doing.

I think this film was scarier because it really shows how dark the world is and how easily anyone can get turned on by machismo, sadistic, power of controling another human's life and when that life expires. That and the fact they found Paxton who had gone into hiding, and not knowing how far the EHG's can reach!
