This movie is not anti or pro Israel--it is anti-war period! (spoilers)

Just got back from a screening of this film. I did not like it. The film felt like it went on for several days instead of hours! I felt stuck in the fortress. The talk was endless. The enemy was never shown. The pacing was slow and deliberate. I was bored out of my mind. Then I realized that this is probably the exact intention of the filmmaker. The movie is about the futility of holding that fortress under an unseen enemy and how to disengage safely from that position. Deaths are wasted. Posters on IMDB have gone back and forth about the film's position on Israel's invasion of Lebanon, but while watching this film, didn't anybody think of the US invasion of Iraq and the danger of our troops even being there? This parallel was unmistakeable to me, and if a Democrat makes it to the White House, either he or she will have to deal with the same unsafe situation as the commander in this movie did--how to leave safely. Anybody agree with my take on this?
