Hugh Grant is GREAT in this

I normally don't like the sight of him, but he's brilliant in this movie. That damn hip shaking is GENIUS. Especially in the final concert. His one liners are great and the scene at the theme park is hilarious. I would never have believed he could actually be funny...

Hugh Grant played the kind of character he plays usually - no big surprise.
I agree he is great as usual.
However he was not well served by the script in this movie, where his jokes were rather predictable.

I have a secret "crush" on Hugh Grant, as a guy you know, meaning I like him literally too much for a romantic comedy actor. But don't tell anyone.

Me too! It's the borderline between girls love him and guys want to be him, and girls love him and guys...love him too.

He really adapted well and learned skills he'd never tried before. His singing was good, he might have been better in Mamma Mia than some of those they hired who could not sing at all!

I love how he sneaks in his one-liners, when they were going to lay down the track and Drew's character said her throat was closing up and HG goes that's fine, its just a 3 minute song...ther are many others. He has a similar character in two week notice....if you haven't seen that one you should!

I think this one of the funniest films I've seen him in.

I agree-he's very talented and very funny-terrific timing and expressions--this is one cute movie!
