A mediocre movie with some funny parts

I don't really hate this movie, but the "songwriting-process"-part kind of felt like the actual script-writers of this movie trying to figure out what should happen... :P And the ending... feels a tad bit too cliché, so my rating winded up being a 5.
Anyone else feel the same way?

But isn't that how writing is? Not just songs, but anything. People sit around waiting for the inspiration and/or do other things to distract themselves. Marc Lawrence wanted to show the process the way it really is, instead of playing with it (like in BARTON FINK and ADAPTATION).
