'Way Back Into Love' copies 'Head Over Heels'

The great 80s Britpop outfit Tears for Fears had a melody that is basically copied in the opening bars of "Way Back Into Love." Must be just a few notes shy of plagiarism.

It's at 1:11 of their song "Head Over Heels":

Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks this, I was coming here to say the exact same thing.

I'm glad this struck someone else as familiar.

I've read that as long as four consecutive notes are not copied, it's not plagiarism.

Many songs have the same three notes, such as the start of "Moon River" and "Goldfinger."

Yes that's it! I knew it was an 80s song and I knew it was used in Donnie Darko. I was going to look it up but you saved me the trouble. It's the same!
