What explains the popularity of 'Way back into love' in Asian countries?
Searching for this song on youtube, I noticed this little curiosity: aside from clips from the movie, half of the 'Way back' covers are sang by people of Asian descent, whether they are in Asia or not.
The funny thing is, I don't remember this song being that popular in the States when the movie came out two years ago.
Interesting you mention this because 2 years ago when the movie came out I had two roommates, one was a Korean exchange student the other was also Korean but had been born and raised in the U.S. They really liked the song, downloaded it to their computers (maybe they had bought the whole soundtrack) and played it a lot and then I grew to like it too! I don't know why the song was/is so popular in Asian countries either..... I also remember I saw the movie with a friend who is not Asian and she liked the song right away, just as much as my Asian roommates did and she bought the movie soundtrack as well.
shareI never even heard it until I saw this movie today. well, the beginning does sound an awful lot like an 80s song I can't quite remember, but I don't think I heard it on the radio when this movie came out.
