way back into love - the demo version or the one with Bennett?

Which version do you prefer?

reply

Ooh, wow...tough choice, as they both sound good to me. I'll have to say I like them both equally. The demo with Drew sounds really sweet - she's not a bad singer, I think. But I also like the other version with the full backing band. Good headphone music for me - I like to turn it up and hear all the instruments, if that makes any sense.

Drew was alright, but Haley Benett really drove it home.

I gotta agree that Haley was a better, stronger singer than Drew, although the demo version was 'sweeter'. I still liked the bennett one..

I would also have to vote for both.....I am looking forward to the CD I ordered as I want to hear the song in it's entirety. Don't think it was in either version. I love to hear about Hugh's singing, which is in the extras on the DVD. I love the DVD, especially the fact that I can choose the scenes I like the best once in awhile.

I'm trying to find the demo version online somewhere. I think I prefer the version with Drew because 1) it's sung by the two romantic leads--that's pretty special and 2) I like songs that are a bit raw, the version with Haley seemed a little too produced. Haley's not a bad singer by any means though.

While the singing was better on the concert version, overall I prefer the demo. Being actors rather than singers, they sang it with a lot more subtly and both not being singers, they didn't overpower each other (which happens a little bit on the full production version).

I have to say that, as a Musician, .....I prefer the Demo Version. .....This version is produced and sung by the "Composers" of the number, in the hope of it being the song to be chosen by the young star who commisioned it.

The fact that neither Drew Barrymore nor Hugh Grant are essencially singers also gives this version that little "Je-Ne-Sais-Qua" which the "Production Version" with Haley Bennett does not have.

I prefer the one with Bennett. Mainly, because Alex Fletcher did his PoP signature move with his hips and Cora did hers. I thought it was funny because the moves worked and there was that scene where the choreographer was futilely trying to get Alex to do the same move as Cora. I would have thought the choreographer was experienced enough to know the signature moves would work together instead of clash.

Loved that part!

I prefer the demo version.

I don't know. Myself, I liked Drew Barrymore's version better. I liked the song sweeter.

reply

They are both good but I prefer the version with Drew.
