Season 4; Ep 1 - Catherine meets Edward and Liz

After Elizabeth curtsies and walks away - Henry seems transfixed for a moment- remembering Anne??

reply

Yes. And also perhaps pride in his daughter?

I noticed that too. I figured it was a way of the director/writer foreshadowing Henry maybe sensing the power in Elizabeth and seeing her as Queen? Obviously it was just for the audience's benefit seeing as the real Henry died thinking he left a healthy heir in his son. Or maybe he was remembering Anne.

You know what I liked? When Henry was bidding farewell to Catherine Parr, Elizabeth, and Mary in the last episode.. All 3 stood behind him when he walked away and watched him walk out of the room while Kate & Mary were crying. Elizabeth just BOUNCED and walked gracefully out of the room. The other 2 watched her walk out like "Where you going" That was a cool, subtle moment that I appreciated

Apart from the the Pope and Michelangelo I think that was my biggest laugh out loud moment of the entire series.

It's hard to be emotionally attached to someone who killed your mother.

It's equally hard to be emotionally attached to someone you have no recollection of meeting. Henry was the dominating force in her life and she gloried in him.
