This Movie Would Never Be Made in 2016

And I do mean, NEVER.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

You're right. It's pretty sad when no one can make fun of themselves anymore. Everybody's a victim...

reply

Very true. Too many PC police out there just aching to make a scene over anything remotely referencing race, gender, religion, sexuality, occupation, politics, species, weight, dress codes, money.....basically any topic at all is offensive now. You're not allowed to talk, write, or think. Just be a robot. Beep boop boop bop.

reply

...wha? If anything wouldn't it be more likely to be made?

It had a pro-gay message and characters still make 'gay jokes' in films coming out today. I swear this whole anti-pc thing is becoming as overblown as the movement itself.

I'd love to see you in the moonlight with your head thrown back and your body on fire.

reply

Well it is fine that you saw it as a "pro-gay message"...but many others did not, particularly with Sander's history.

I stick to my statement...in 2016, this movie would not be made.

You mean because it was so harmless and timid? In 2016 we have sausage party and the neon demon.

No Adam Sandler movie should be made...EVER!

He should be nuked from orbit. It's the only way to be sure!

reply

Why? This film had a very pro gay message.

reply

I was actually pleasantly surprised when I watched this movie. I myself am gay and find this movie to have a very pro gay message. Sure, it has a lot of stereotypes and asinine humor but what do you expect of an Adam Sandler film? To this day I still get a little misty eyed when Chuck looks over at the gay couple in sympathy at the club as one is trying to comfort the other who is crying.

I have been through a lot of stuff like that.

It is sweet, and funny. It is a little whore-phobic and childish but again... It is an Adam Sandler movie. If you are expecting wittiness and a clever script... Don't watch an Adam Sandler movie.

I blinking love David Matthews in this movie. I giggle every time.

if it was, then the board would be filled to the brim with hateful morons talking about "the left wing liberal swj blahblah media.... etc".
