Spin-off version ideas?

This show took place 1960-1970, could it work for another decade with a new cast? Which decade would you pick, who would be your Don Draper? Or material-wise was the 60's just too damn good?

I always prefered a prequel idea...either Cooper in the 1920s when advertisement really became a million dollar industry, or a young Roger during his days in WW2.

Love the prequel idea. I'd like to see the beginnings of S&C, Roger's father and Bert, Roger coming into the business, and Don's ascent.

Too bad there would be no Peggy, as Peggy and Don, and their relationship, was the main compelling aspect of the show for me, but I would definitely watch that show. A lot of people say they'd like to see a Sally spin-off, but for me, regardless of how wonderfully she played the part, I wouldn't be much interested in seeing that.

A mental asylum thriller about Girnsberg and how he thinks the machines will take over the world.

In tone and quality, The Deuce on HBO is basically a sequel.

The adventures of the Campbells living wherever they were headed to in the last episode. But make it a sitcom.

Trudy becomes a professional wrestler.

I think they should leave it be.

Picking up with Peggy could be fun, and somebody else here suggested Sally as an adult. Either are potential goldmines of stories, but Mad Men had such a brilliant finale that opening it up again would burn down that perfect ending. All the plotlines wrapped up snugly. I say: don't open 'em up.

Don finally found peace; let him have it.

A lot of ideas!

- Sally in the 70s. A series "sex, drugs and rock'n roll" style, but also similar to the main series in the way it talks about the events of the decade.

- Peggy in the 80s. A show "Halt and Catch Fire" style.

- Sal Romano as a gay mafia boss in the 70s. A series "The Godfather" style.
