my husband's missing! Let me go get my hair blown out...

ok, I know actresses and actors like to look beautiful on the screen but it really works against their attempts at creating real emotions and tensions on screen. Reese looked like a pampered, well rested, well styled model ready to do a photo shoot for Mommy 2 Be fashions. Anyone going through a worrying ordeal like that would look like hell.

This is where European films have an edge. A wife in her situation would look "beautifully wretched". Red eyes, messy hair, pale, a tad sweaty from running around looking for help... Of course, European actresses would still have allure and style but not the bottled up, salon perfect, sanitized look that Reese had in this film.

I know this is an old thread but it makes me laugh how inaccurate this is. Her hair is not blown out at any point and barely styled at all throughout this movie. Midway through the movie it's in a very messy, dirty looking ponytail and she's wearing no makeup when Alan tells her to get a lawyer. She doesn't wear makeup for the rest of the movie. Even on the film poster her hair is in a messy ponytail and she looks tired and haggard.
