That's gotta be rough

For a few of the guys cast in the film who are told essentially they're being cast because they're average looking. The lead is told, "You're playing a '5'.... and you, you're a '6'." At least the one guy was told at the bowling alley he was an '8', but still, how would you like it if you were being cast and told, you're just average. I guess why I think it's rough is because you're being told this (and have it advertised) in front of millions of potential viewers (on posters and such) and thousands of movie watchers. It is a comedy, but still, kinda rough.

I agree that it would be rough for those actors. However, typecasting like that has always existed. The credits of countless movies have had characters with unflattering names such as "Fat Man" or "Fat Woman". I've always wondered what those actors and actresses told friends and family when they were listed in the movie credits like that.

I remember from A League of Their Own, when Jon Lovitz character is going off about how ugly Marla is. Before and between takes, Jon is telling the actress that she's not really ugly, she's pretty - just being a really good person about it so she doesn't feel horrible about herself. 

She then tells him that she knows what she looks like and she's getting paid a lot of money to look like that. 

 AWESOME ATTITUDE!!!
