Priest 2?

Were there ever plans for a sequel?

reply

Interpreting some sequences of the movie I guess they had a sequel in mind. However especially details like that was what made it bad. The blatant setting for a sequel was hurting the movie.

I agree but I still think it was better than I thought it would be having read the bad Reviews.

Priest had so much potential- it's such a great story. Great images. Great action sequences, but it came in flat. The same happened with the Director's previous film, so I'm pointing fingers his way. The images were so-- we've seen so many of these moments before. Priest had a much bigger story to tell and I think once you got past the original character establishing of the first film, the subsequent films could have been amazing, but one poor director and we all lose. See, films like this are what Hollywood needs to reboot- ideas that you know should be great but somehow fail (Priest, Reign of Fire, Equilibrium) are perfect for reworking.

Anyway, I doubt we'll see a Priest 2. I'm sure Priest will find an audience on dvd and it will become a cult film, but for now...

I like all the films you posted:

Priest
Equilibrium
Reign of Fire

I also loved Dark City and Watchmen.

Not sure but I'd really like to know. Loved the movie, but it leaves you in the dark with the story line and brings you to believe that is not over.

Yes, the ending was pretty abrupt.

How was that the end of anything?

reply

It was an open ended end - I think they were hoping for a franchise to follow. But despite the cast it was distinctly mediocre so that was that I guess.

looks like they had plans but it never happened.
