I just started watching Skins a couple of days ago. Is it just me or series 2 was very weird and different to series 1? It was full of drama and kinda of depressing to be honest. I still love the characters but they were very different in the first series.

shareYeah, and I think that applies to each generation. The first half of each generation is the introduction, background and set up for the characters and their relationships to one another so it's usually more lighthearted. The second half usually begins with some big drama or change and then follows the fallout from that.
I'm writing a play. It's a cross between Glee and The Road.
Each generation is like that. Series 2 is always a lot more drama based than the first. Series 4 is gut wrenching and series 6 is definitely more dramatic. It still has a blend of humour but they are more depressing than the first series with each cast. Though series 6's finale isn't half as sad as the other finales and we get a lot of closure from the characters.
