Effy?

How did she forgot so fast about Freddie ? he was killed by her psycho shrink , Cook was easy to forget but she nearly went crazy about Freddie and in Fire she didn't even mention him,she even didn't knew if he was alive wich was pretty stupid they all tought that he was leaving when season 4 ended they all had a party but i tought they would've found out by now .. and i tought cook would've tell them even tho he just yelled "IM COOOK" and i guess killed him ? i was hoping season 7 to explain these things but no .. Effy was my fav character on skins she is amazing but this is just stiupid.

It had been 3 years since Fred had been killed. Is Effy supposed to cry over him for the rest of her life?

reply

That's not really the point. She doesn't have to cry over him all the time but it would've been nice to see her acknowledge what happened, like Cook did, so that the viewers would have some closure and wouldn't have to guess whether or not she ever found out.

reply

Well, in Rise, Cook was hiding from the law because he escaped from jail in season 4. They never established whether or not he was also wanted for Foster's murder. If the cops know that Freddie is dead, then Effy does, too.

reply

I just think it's weird that she didn't acknowledge his death especially since she was working for/banging someone who (coincidentally?) looks like him.

reply

Considering Effy's risk of depression, it was probably kinder to have her never know the truth about Freddie's death.

Did anyone notice that her boss that she was crushing on actually kinda looked like an older version of Freddie?! I actually thought that could have been intentional and a way to show that she still had a thing for "that type".

reply

It was deliberate, as was the casting of the boss' ex-girlfriend. She looked like a more womanly version of Effy, no doubt to serve as some sort of cautionary tale, of what Effy might become if she's not careful.

Also, if you did not already notice this the writers give you a gentle nudge: one of the clients she goes to meet & takes to Naomi's comedy show is named Freddie and is introduced as such when Jake is standing there. But in true Effy fashion she doesn't even bat an eye.
