I just absolutely love the soundtrack!
There's just one thing I want to clarify -
in the scene where the blue machine-things (Tamagochis or something like that) try to get up the building, there is some wicked music playing. I think that this music is Track 2 on the soundtrack, "Replica". Can anyone confirm this?

shareI'm not particularly a fan of pop and tecno music, but I love, love, love Yoko Kanno's music for GITS. The three albums of series music and this album for SSS are really amazing listening experiences.
I even cried a little when I finally heard 'I Do' played against the visuals of Section 9 saving the day at the end of '2nd Gig'. Kanno's a genius.

What is the name of the song playing when Motoko first putting her puppet body that looks like her into that glass compartment at her place? It had a strings instrument (I don't know which) and sounded like that tune always playing during the Bourne Identity series...
shareI can't tell you the name, because I don't remember how it sounds, however that song *was* actually based on the underscore from the Bourne Identity piece. That's pretty sharp, I honestly didn't recognize it myself until I read about Kanno's work on this soundtrack.
Also, I have to disagree with Levente's post. Replica is not the same piece that was playing when the Tachikoma's were infiltrating the building. That song does not seem to be on the soundtrack.
Actually two songs were used during the building attack, one was alredy released, that techno song, and the second was done for SSS and sang by Ilaria Graziani.
The music you were looking for when Motoko chganes bodies is an original piece done for the movie, but a very similar piece you can hear in the Mr. & Mrs. Smith movie. On the movies soundtrack you can hear this track called: Two Phone Calls.

shareI think the Solid State Society OST is one of the best of the Ghost in the Shell-SAC OST's, right up there with OST 2. Absolutely love the songs Player, Replica, Zero Signal, Date of Rebirth, and Take a Little Hand. I'm definitely not really a fan of techno but of course, Ghost in the Shell is the exception.
