It definitely ended abruptly. I watched it for the second time tonight, and I don't remember it ending like that. It's a fine line between an open-ended ending and no ending, and this movie I think sits precariously in the middle of the two. I get that it was probably the filmmakers' intention to leave it ambiguous, but too many characters just disappear without a conclusion (Mac, Lynn) and there wasn't a strong enough sense of the future for some of these characters at the end. Norah goes on a road trip, but why, and then what? I would have thought that if she stayed and helped Rose with the new business, she would have found a greater sense of purpose, and been able to strengthen her bond with her sister too. And I doubt Joe would have been able to help Rose with the business long...he's old, and it's hard work. I still love the movie a lot, I just wish it could have given us a little bit more closure without necessarily spoonfeeding us an ending.
You heart me? What is that? Is that like I love you for pussies?
