I liked all the actors (they were likable characters) and the story premise but the follow through was empty.
While I was hoping for something else, I glad that the filmmakers had the courage to leave the future open. Anything else would have seemed too false, especially for a film so grounded in social reality as this.

I felt there were a lot of loose ends as well... even with mac?? Liked the movie, the characters but the endinggg i don't know.
shareI didn't find any fault with the ending at all. Rose was motivated to enroll her child into the appropriate educational setting, thus; the biohazard cleaning service. In the end, Oscar was enrolled at what appeared to be a private or parochial school setting. Goal achieved, end of story.
shareIt definitely ended abruptly. I watched it for the second time tonight, and I don't remember it ending like that. It's a fine line between an open-ended ending and no ending, and this movie I think sits precariously in the middle of the two. I get that it was probably the filmmakers' intention to leave it ambiguous, but too many characters just disappear without a conclusion (Mac, Lynn) and there wasn't a strong enough sense of the future for some of these characters at the end. Norah goes on a road trip, but why, and then what? I would have thought that if she stayed and helped Rose with the new business, she would have found a greater sense of purpose, and been able to strengthen her bond with her sister too. And I doubt Joe would have been able to help Rose with the business long...he's old, and it's hard work. I still love the movie a lot, I just wish it could have given us a little bit more closure without necessarily spoonfeeding us an ending.
