Love this movie

I actually skipped an acounting class to see this movie, i was the only one in the theater. I thought it was great then, and still do. Everyone keeps bashing it. Like the book, there really isnt any unique or groundbreaking story. It was certainly not a plot driven movie. However it gives us a climpse in the lives of people that we would perceive as living in a perfect world. The young group of spolied rich kids, the rock star, successful film producer, reporter, aspiring actor living in hollywood; all of which i would be envious of. However, it shows that each one of them is missing something. I dont think this movie was meant to be anything more than a glimpse into the (not so)glamorous life of los angeles in the 1980s. the acting was actually very good, enjoyed seeing kim bassinger and mickey rourke. Also brad renfro really had a sense of desperation with his character. I dont know what expectations were, but to call the movie trash is unfotunate. I hate to see a decent film bashed when there are countless blockbusters being spit out with poor actors and no originality.

I quite enjoyed it myself. Mostly because I like that type of movies - the ensemble, episodic movies.
