for me it was the rock fighting a cgi tiger. i did’t last very long.

Turned it off many times actually. There was no sitting through this in one go. The first time I turned it off was after Rock's jungle cruise tour in the beginning because I knew right there that was the best part of the whole movie. There was no topping that charm and humor and Disney-isms. That was the theme park part of the movie. I turned it off the second time after they escaped the town with the boat cause I knew that was the end of the movie being fun. Goodbye great sets. Goodbye all you wonderful costumes and extras and stunts. We're about to spend two hours on a boat with people just sitting around talking. And probably lots of CGI. That's when I started pausing every 10 minutes or so.
I don't always turn off a movie cause it's hard to get through. I often turn off a movie cause I can sense the picture peaked and I want to ruminate on the good stuff before continuing forward, so as not to taint those memories.
This is reasonable. I haven't thought of it this way, nor have I considered stopping a movie for this specific purpose.

shareWhen the guy revealed his sexual orientation. It just wasn't for me.
shareI'm not fan of the typical overt "I'm gay and in your face and you're going to love me and celebrate my gayness or you're evil" type of wokeness, but I thought that the reveal in this movie was subtle enough. Young children would have no idea what he was talking about and it gives parents the option to explain it later or not.
shareNothing against strong women, as long as they're not too masculine. Emily Blunt's character was ok, strong but still feminine. Her brother on the other hand was way too feminine, with all his suitcases, pink socks and all. After his reveal, I was like wtf am I watching and turned it off. I certainly wouldn't want my children to watch this.
