If you have netflix, the whole show is available in English, you might just have to change the settings but I doubt japanese is the defult
shareYes. There is an English dub and it is done quite well. On Netflix its set to English by default.
shareDubs pretty much suck for all shows outside of the ones originally aired on Toonami. Too much is lost in translation and the level of voice actors in America is limited.
shareIf you are talking about Toonami back then I wouldnot call The Dic Dub of Sailor Moon a good Dub or the DBZ Dubs before Kai good dubs.

As for Death Note the Dub is Excellent. The Ocean Group actually puts effort into this Dub unlike their DBZ dub.

It is a fact that there are horrible translations and issues of bad Americanisation/localisation when dubbing, and it can happen when subbing too. It's not grasping at straws. It happens all the time.
I never once said all dubs are bad. I have enjoyed a few. I do prefer subs, and watch them wherever available, but sometimes the accuracy fails there too. As I said, it happens.
ETA: You know what, actually, I think the quality of dubs is about the same overall, but it really depends on the company and the show, as it always has. The regretful nature of things is that the same voice actors are recycled time and again -- which can feel weird, hearing a familiar voice again and again, in different roles, and they're not trying to change it to suit their current character -- and I'm never particularly impressed by the line delivery, which often feels stiff and lifeless. To this day, Bebop still has the best dub I have ever heard.
But really, my overall opinion on dubs has nothing to do with translation and localisation issues in anime. These issues simply exist.

I dont see the problem with using the same voice actors,most of them can do different voices,but have that one voice they are known for even voice actors in games and Cartoons do that but most of the time the voices work.
If we are still talking about Death Note what localization and translation problems are you talking about? The Dub of Death Note is still Death Note the wording is a bit different at times but they are still saying the same things or something similar that was said in the sub, but nothing was drastically changed.

I'm not talking about DN specifically, although two things immediately spring to mind for me. The first is the translation error 'Rally Collins' shown on the television when referring to a man named Larry, and the second is the potato chip scene, in which a pretty drastic tonal shift takes place between the English and Japanese versions.
I was simply talking in general, as you seemed to fall under the mindset that anime is infallible to poor translations, and only people who hate dubs say that as a flimsy argument.

You are right about those two things in DN,but none of that drastically changed the dub
I am not in that mindset that that errors cant happen,I was just saying most of them don't affect the dub in a significant way like they did back then its usually minor if there is any these days.I clicked on the link you sent some of the responses sounded fair, but there were some that sounded prejudiced towards dubs in general. I honestly have never seen NGE dubbed or subbed so I would need to do that before giving an opinion.
