Cloris Leachman and a dog are funnier here than Kevin Hart. Truth.

"The Wedding Ringer" is an uneven comedy that does have a couple laughs imbedded in it, but hardly answers this question on any level: won't a bride still be willing to marry the guy even if he does not have a Best Man? Apparently not. The groom must go out and spend thousands of pesos on Kevin Hart so he can have the Best Man and Groomsmen. The groom is played by Josh Gad, and he is hardly leading man material. Kaley Cuoco plays his bride-to-be and she is shallow and her motives to marry Josh is paper thin, which brings us to how it all ends. There are no surprises. None. Grandma at the dining table and a dog have the biggest laughs - that is correct, Cloris Leachman and a pooch get more laughs than Kevin Hart, who has still yet to prove himself worthy of a comedy actor in any film. His best role to date is "Get Hard", and that was helped a heck of a lot by Will Ferrell. There is no one to help him here with the laughs. And he is unable to get it done himself. If you are someone who believes that there is no one funnier on this planet than Kevin Hart, then by all means have at it. The rest of you, this is a rain delay time filler at best. Some cameo appearances by a trio of football players will have just about everyone under 40 asking just who the heck they are. Overall, this earns nothing more than ** out of 4 stars.
