Not having any friends.

Isn't that a huge red flag for women. If you started dating someone and found out they didn't have any friends wouldn't you be freaked?

Girls dig lonely types, so they don't have to share them with anyone.

And he seemed a fairly decent sort, so no real issues there.

Then maybe he should be weary.

I don't let anyone hot-comb out my HAIRitage!

It is a red flag. But sometimes I meet chicks who go "I can't be friends with girls, they're bitchy. I like having guys as friends but then they want me and it falls apart."

For a guy to have no friends is more and more common after age 30 I believe. A whole bunch of acquaintances.

Nope. My boyfriend never had any real friends and I enjoy him so much. Everything we do together is special and we create new memories together that neither of us ever had. Our relationship is much more valuable to the both of us. I wouldn't say I don't have friends, but honestly this year I am kind of in the same bracket as him which is why I am patient and understands him so well.

Being a loner or introvert doesn't make you weird. Being weird makes you weird.

Doug said he told Gretchen he had a bunch of friends so she would like him.

Depends on the circumstances. Doug seemed to be a real workaholic type (he seemed to have a really good job and a lot of money for a guy in his early 30s), so that could possibly explain why he didn't really have a social life.
