I think what was meant to be funny was the characters reaction to the situation not the actual fact that she was burning. They were acting like idiots.
shareI was half laughing half not, but I found the follow up jokes funny. I think these movies have a lot of shock value and maybe the 2nd or 3rd time you'd laugh. I found the makeup on her to be funny and the jokes "you set my grandmother on fire" to be good.
