Skeleton in the Closet?

Would anybody like to comment on the lack of fall-out from the incident in the closet? After Harry shoots Chad in the head at point blank range I assume there would be a TON of blood and stuff in the closet, on the clothes in the closet, etc. But when Harry and Mrs. Cox are having dinner that night, the presumably gigantic carrot salad, she doesn't seemed disturbed at all. Not to mention Ozzy was in the same room stealing Mrs. Cox's jewelry into his box of liquor as well. Is Harry supposed to have cleaned that closet up well enough to evade suspicion? Wouldn't that mean disposing of the clothes, recarpeting the floor, etc., etc.? I mean, maybe Ozzy would have ignored the missing clothes in the closet, but I think Mrs. Cox would have noticed. In a script with an otherwise flawlessly complicated plot, this strikes me as a real mystery.
