The victims said that when they had payed their debt they were allowed to go home. What kind of debt were they talking about exactly? Obviously they didn't have a debt from the beginning, at least not to their trafficers.

Another thing I was wondering was when Kathryn Bolkovac did the raid she asked Viko if he trusted his men. Then later in the raid scene suddenly the guy from earlier in the movie showed up (don't know if he was one of Viko's men). While Kathryn tried to convince Raya to come with her he shook his head. I admit I didn't understand what was going on in that scene, or who the guy really was, so I'd be grateful if someone wants to explain it to me.

By the way - what happened to Irka?

Smuggling,traveling fees,paying food,shelter.All that goes in their debt.That's how they keep them..

It wasn't one of his guys that tipped those corrupted observers..
