BrBa by far.

Was Sopranos ever as exciting as BrBa ? Did they ever have a scene anywhere near close as good as this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm87QaQzuno

HECK, no film has a scene anywhere near as good this one. BrBa just changed everything!

Breaking Bad by a country mile.

I like The Sopranos but nothing comes close to BB.

I haven't watched Sopranos.... I know that sounds crazy. lol... but I don't watch that many TV shows, I mainly stick to movies.

However, lately I've been getting into TV shows and I just finished watching all five seasons of BB for the first time and this is hands down the best crime drama I've ever seen.

It's a brilliant example of excellent casting and a very good story to back it up. Everyone played their part really well, you just couldn't help but like all the characters, even the really unsavory ones. It touches so deep on the human condition surrounding issues like, life and death, joy and regret, grief and triumph its all covered in this. I could have watched another 5 seasons of it. It's a really great show.

It's a 9.2 out of 10 from me. And I don't give out that many 9's either.

I also watched El Camino the Breaking Bad movie and it was pretty good too. Although not quite as good as BB, but it did feel like a finale for BB. Just started watching Better Call Saul too. It's been entertaining but again, not as good as BB.

Good post, I agree.
The Sopranos is certainly worth watching if you ever get the time, it is quite good👍

The cast of BB is just incredible, the tension is high the whole time and they even snuck some humor into the scripts.

El Camino was great stuff and Better Call Saul is my current rewatch…I just love these characters and the actors are perfect.

Thanks for the reply, shogun.

I started watching Sopranos and I just can't get over the fact that one of the male characters is named "pussy". LOL!

Worst...name....ever.

Does he die soon? I'm not sure I can tolerate that name for one of the main characters.

reply

It is a bad nickname for sure.

It’s been a while since I’ve watched it but I think the Salvotore character was called ‘Big Pussy’ because he was a very good cat burglar for such a big fat guy.

As to Big Pussy’s fate I don’t want to spoil anything for you, The Sopranos is well worth watching.

reply

ok, I guess I'll give it a try.

I'll just pretend they say "putty" instead of "pussy". lol...

The Sopranos was very good but Breaking Bad was truly great. The Sopranos got bogged down with all that wife and kid stuff, I didn’t care about any of them, I loved the Mob stuff though.

The Better Call Saul prequel series to BB is terrific too. That Slippin’ Jimmy is quite a fine character, he’s a pretty shitty person that you somehow find sympathetic and even root for. What an amazing performance by Bob Odenkirk and the rest of the cast.

They are two very different shows. The Sopranos is a lot more character and dialogue driven than Breaking Bad and doesn't really have one set plot at its centre, more so many different plot lines per season. BB does have that and relies more on tension building. I personally prefer BB, I find it to be a lot more gripping and climatic.

Sopranos is more like the type of show a college student would borrow from the library because they heard it is one of the greatest shows of all time but then probably never watch it again once they get through all the DVDs. Whereas with Breaking Bad (and by extension Better Call Saul) you can watch the show over and over again and go back and watch a random episode and never get bored.

Breaking Bad, but not by THAT much. Sopranos is excellent. Anyways, $4 a pound.
