It's all that stupid mom's fault

Seriously, am I the only one who was pissed off with the mom ever since she showed up in the movie? Yea yea I understand that this is just a movie, its just a story, characters are not real, and it's not really all that realistic but wtf! She had all that attitude about Liam Neeson (whose character in the movie was the former *beep* ex-husband) not being ok with the daughter going to Europe...but look at everything that happened to Kim. and where was the *beep* gratitude at the end? Fathers dont ever get enough credit as parents the way mothers do in the media.

(Btw only look at the FIRST movie if you plan on state your opinion)

Damn, Lenore was such a b!tch. Make the ex-wife a real unappreciative condescending witch, and it generates more sympathy for the protagonist. It's a tried and true formula for testosterone-ladened action movies that's geared mostly for a male target audience. Didn't we all wish Neeson's character were a little more vindictive? If he sued for custody of Kim, is there any judge who wouldn't have awarded custody to him after hearing how much of an irresponsible parent Lenore is?

Yea, I was so hoping at the end he'd at lest say something like "yea, maybe next time you'll actually listen to me!!" lol

There are a great many judges who give custody to drug addict mothers over straight-living men, this is simply the reality of living in a feminazi society. If you look at the statistics for custody decisions, the distribution is absolutely disturbing. The reason is simple, men work harder and therefore earn more money, and can therefore pay more money into the divorce industry than if the roles were reversed.

The reason women are prioritized in custody battles is:

1. they carry the kid for 9 months, that's no easy task
2. they continue breastfeeding 1-2 years after birth so children rely more on the mother's presence than the father's
3. women generally have maternal instincts and tend to sacrifice everything for their offsprings
4. there is usually a stronger bond between mother and child compared to father and child
5. mothers generally make a bigger sacrifice for their children than father's do

These are only general stereotypes and there are exceptions of course.

BTW, calling your Western society 'feminazi' indicates sexists views, which may extend to your daughter/sister/mother/wife/gf/etc.

There are literally millions of women dumping their husbands and breaking up families in order to snag a richer man, it happens every day and shouldn't shock anyone unless they live in a bubble. The mother character was incredibly nasty but sadly a lot of these women exist and they and the divorce industry make a lot of money from family breakups.

Maybe.

But there are a lot more men who have divorced their wives and abandoned their family to chase after a younger woman.

reply

Exactly. That dumbass must be a MRA moron.

If I don't reply, you're probably on my ignore list for something I forgot already

reply

He’s definitely a MRA and quite a few other posters here are going into creepy detail, when describing how Liam should beat his ex wife.

Creeps.

No, its not. The ones at fault are the ones that kidnapped her, drugged her and sold her. Yes, the mom acted irresponsibly and foolishly, but she is not the criminal.

I wish he could have followed from a distance. Her friend Amanda would have made it. I maintain it's the moms and daughters fault and Amanda helped it get worse.

reply

How was it their fault?

reply

If I was the mom I would be thinking he set everything up to make it look like he's right until the very end of the movie.

reply

That's some pretty dumb parenting on Lenore's part. Maybe she thought it was okay though since Maggie Grace was actually 25 when she made this movie? LOL

reply

Yeah she was a bitch.

reply

I'm rewatching this and the ex-wife is unbearable, a truly unlikable character from the first time you meet her.

reply

But totally overdone. Him wanting to take a photo and her saying "oh we have a professional photographer for that" was too much.

reply

I know, right...

I would've liked it if at the end of the movie, when Liam saves his daughter, and they're all back at the airport - he should've leaned in towards his ex-wife and said "this was all your stupid fault." Which really, it was. But hey, I guess Liam was just a nice guy. lol
