There needs to be more gay films like this.

Films like this and The Perfect Wedding are two examples of the types of gay films there needs to be more of.

Positive, romantic films that portray gay men as normal people. I can't be the only one sick of every gay male movie taking place in West Hollywood and only starring ripped beefcakes, can I?

This is one of my top favorite movies. I just wish I could find a cheap copy of the region one DVD.

This was mediocre.
Try watching more British and German or French gay cinema - way ahead of what is produced in US.
Example from 2013 - Free Fall (German), Come Undone (2000, French),No Night is Too Long (2002,UK) or Sunday Bloody Sunday (1970).

No, don't get me wrong. European and foreign gay cinema is MUCH better than American, but this is better than most American gay cinema.

Wasn't impressed with 'Come Undone'. It was like the director indulged to appease his own desires and I didn't find the story all that compelling and was disjointed. Wild Reeds-94' is much better. Latter Days isn't bad either. Have yet to see Free Fall.

I did enjoy Shelter very much and the story was well rounded. It showed how selfish Zach's sister was, when he did all he could to take care of his nephew and be a father figure, and she just used him. What a skank, and she just takes of with another douchbag loser. She didn't seem to care about her boy, only herself. Shaun could have had anybody, but he knew Zach was special.
