Dany learned the same lesson as Stannis

"Lord Seaworth is a man of humble birth, but he reminded me of my duty, when all I could think of was my rights. I had the cart before the horse, Davos said. I was trying to win the throne to save the kingdom, when I should have been trying to save the kingdom to win the throne."

Dany effectively did the same thing when she promised to help Jon destroy the Night King even though he hadn't bent the knee.

And that's the difference between her and Cersei.

If Cersei ever came to believe there really was an army if undead to the north, she'd plan to use them to kill Dany, her Dothraki, and everyone in the rebellious North. Of course she wouldn't think beyond that, to when an army if undead Dothraki and Northmen would sweep over King's Landing...

reply

I think that is exactly what's going to happen.

reply

I will be very disappointed if an army of undead doesn't sweep over King's Landing!

But seriously, Cersei has no interest in saving humanity. Dany ought to melt the Red Keep into a puddle of lava, declare herself queen, and get on with saving humanity as fast as she can.

reply

I agree! Cersei deserves a horrible death!! She is such a selfish and narcissistic person!

reply

Cersei does have an interest in saving humanity. If the Seven Kingdoms are destroyed, how can she rule over them? I think she's going to make the alliance. The whole time she's working with them of course, she's going to be studying her new "friends" and planning how she'll betray them as soon as the larger threat is dealt with and she doesn't need them anymore. They probably are better off just killing Cersei, but they won't. If Dani doesn't respect the terms of parley or honor her deal then no one else will trust her word on anything.

What? It seems to me she did exactly the opposite. She came to the rescue of humans against the army of the dead, regardless of the "game of thrones" even though he isn't even acknowledging her as his queen, yet. So she was trying to save the kingdom with little regard for her quest to be the queen (she could have attacked Kings Landing instead, with three dragons, now she has only two). So she did incur in a sacrifice for the sake of the kingdom. What are you talking about??

We're in agreement. My writing may have been unclear.

I don't know she truly got that until she lost her dragon and saw the army of the dead herself.

Her answer when Jon first voiced what Bran had saw was if she left Cersai would take the kingdom. Until succession and Jon making eyes at her was brought up by Tyrion Dany was putting her conflict with Cersai above the threat beyond the wall.
