Well now, I am surprised to see our distinguished Lords and Ladies in here criticizing the great GoT. Shame, shame, shame... lol.

Actually, I just started watching this show last month for the first time and just finished with S8. I have to say, I found this show to be quite fascinating. Sure, it gets a little too "zombieish" but for what it is, I thought it was fantastic stuff.

Personally, I think season 2 and 5 are the weakest links, although S2 EP9 was great because of the Battle of Blackwater Bay. That was a glorious battle. I actually really liked season 7 for it's great battles too. But yeah, season 8 could have been better, the zombies (white walkers, whatever the fuck you call'em) are kind of silly but at least we didn't have to deal with the fantasy elements very often.

The ending was a bit confusing too, I was hoping Daenerys would have decided not to roast King's Landing but she did say in a previous episode that she was willing to do this to win the throne. But still, watching her go from "breaker of chains" to "roaster of children" was hard to watch.

However, it wasn't that surprising that it ended this way, she had 3 dragons and a pretty large army to begin with. But to be honest, the biggest appeal to me were the various houses vying for the crown. This part of the show had some really fascinating story-lines going on. They're so good that I almost wish it didn't have any fantasy elements to it.

But then again, this was another thing I found a bit tedious with GoT. It just has too many stories-lines in it and too many characters. The weakest stories have to be Arya's and Bran's. But at least Bran's story had a point to it. I did like Arya's character but all that 'girl has no name' crap was just annoying. Her adventures with the hound and her stay with Tywin were better.

But I haven't read the books, so maybe this is according to the book? idk..

Anyhow, I'm going to have to give all 8 seasons combined a very solid 9.0 out of 10. I think it could be one of the best TV shows I've ever seen.

The first few seasons were really good, but it was obvious as the seasons went by, they had less and less of Martin's great writing. In the last 3 seasons, you could tell all they had were plot outlines and no writing at all to steal.
