so is the whole "smart 5th grader thing" real?
like some people said they picked kids who were excelling in their grade to be on the show, but when i look at their imdb pages, most of them have acting credits

some of the kids are actors, others have been pulled from open calls in malls and various events. majority of the kids who were not in the industry beforehand have stayed in the industry after the show.

If you're going to have five 10-11 year-olds sitting on a set for hours of shooting, naturally you get child actors. It doesn't mean they're not legitimate students.

That's how most game shows find contestants and people to be on the show: open casting calls.

Which is why actors have been on game shows since the beginning of the genre.

This is nothing new. Seriously, you're just noticing this now?
