OK, so is this just me, but towards the end when girl is getting chased and falls off the cliff... Surely surely they were trying to make it so that the killer only thought she fell!?

I mean... we didn't see her fall, he couldn't see her body on the rocks. I know that it's plausible, but it's Hollywood and I was 100% sure she had just made it look like she fell only to return victorious later on.

Then you consider that we had the ridiculous pointless ending. It makes me think that when they originally wrote and filmed it she was supposed to survive, but then at the last moment the director wasn't happy with the ending and therefore cut the scenes where she came back and hurriedly shot the final 5 minutes of the film.

The original way probably wouldn't have been great, but it would have stopped the film from being entirely pointless.

I expected we’d find out she survived too. I guess it’s plausible she did, but without showing us, that would be pointless.

But it’s not like we were rooting for her specifically. If Alison Brie had been the last survivor, I would’ve been rooting for her, since she hadn’t done anything wrong at that point.
