Lack of Suspense

Lack of Suspense to me was the culprit (see what I did there?) as to why this movie was so subpar. The acting was fine, except for Malek looking like an android doing his best to come across as a human, but the story never really had much of a build-up. Just a few moments of people getting into each others' faces and phhht, that was about it. The end was pretty anti-climatic. I'm not one of those that demand to have a twist at the end but this movie should have had something besides my $2 DVD rental fee. They forgot to add the suspense to this crime-"suspense".

The problem with suspense here is that once Jared Leto shows his face about halfway in, we know he’s a major character and therefore the killer (or at least, the one we’re led to believe is the killer). We then wonder how the remaining 68 minutes will manage to have anything unexpected.
