If you don't like this movie you have no soul

Seriously. People can't appreciate good parables anymore. If you're some meathead complaining about a technical flaw in the martial arts or some moron who can't appreciate a complex story, don't saddle us with your deficiencies. It's rare that you see such amazing stories about honor.

This movie is validation for living life with a budo code.

It's best appreciated when you look at it as Mamet intended, as a combination of the samurai and boxing film genres. Something tells me that more people would "get" it if it were set in feudal Japan.

I'm a budo practitioner and loved it, by the way (I even saw it twice in the theater). The ending never fails to move me to tears and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

I like the movie too, but isn't the ending a bit too unrealistic in how it shows the crowd hushed in quite concentration and appreciation?

When has that ever happened in real life with a bloodthirsty modern fight crowd?

Is this your homework, Larry?

Spoken like a saviour. Cuts to the core of what the great film 'Redbelt' is about.

Respect.
